AWARE of their inner self and the world around them

ENABLED with the skills to take action and

EMPOWERED to design a more desirable

and sustainable future – TODAY!

HOW ARE WE DOING IT!

Feel Imagine Do Share Logo
The FIDS framework helps to develop the much required 21st Century Skills in children, builds their social and emotional competencies and promotes employability skills. The most unique feature of the Design for Change initiative is that it is not only simple and constructive, it is adaptable and replicable. The power of Design Thinking allows both children and adults to transform the world into how they envision it – the power to create a more compassionate, empathetic world.

By spreading Design Thinking globally, Design for Change was one of the first organisations to pioneer this progressive way of thinking to schools and children.

A Story of 'I CAN Approach' at Fuchun Primary: Co-Designing Change Together

Design for Change Singapore partnered with Fuchun Primary to explore what a true “I CAN” culture could be. Co-designing IPW with teachers led to the I CAN Curriculum. Through I CAN Students and Teachers, design thinking became shared practice, shaping creativity, empathy, 21CC, and meaningful experiences now to be showcased at this year’s Design Education Summit.

Unleash the I CAN Culture in Classrooms

Design for Change’s 8-hour programme empowers students to design their own caring, inclusive classrooms. Using SEL and the FIDS process—Feel, Imagine, Do, Share—children reflect, listen, and co-create practices that foster safety and kindness. Contact us to learn more admin@dfcsingapore.com

TESTIMONIALS

Samuel Lim
Character and Citizenship Education Officer, Ministry of Education, DFC-S Judge
“I was greatly encouraged and inspired by the many brilliant projects and movements that were showcased. Most importantly was that so many young people took the effort to observe their surroundings keenly instead of burying their noses in mobile devices, put themselves in the shoes of others instead of pursuing their own self-interests, and apply their knowledge and skills in a meaningful way to contribute to the community, both local and abroad.”
Patsian Low
Director Philanthropy, NVPC, Design for Change Singapore Judge
“Design for Change Singapore are believers in change that starts small and early. The seeds of giving should be planted young and it's great to be part of a movement that looks at children as active citizens of our communities.”
Jacks Yeo
DesignSingapore Council, Design for Change Singapore Judge
“Design for Change Challenge is an important movement that could help our kids look at the world from the creative perspective and to make or do something that matters.”
Mdm Rao
School Principal, Yumin Primary School Singapore
“Empowering 10 to 12 year old Yumin Champions with the ‘I Can’ spirit over the last 3 years has brought a whole new meaning to the phrase, ‘Education by design, not by chance'! Students immersed in the DFC learning experiences have learned to be advocates of change for issues that affect them, the people around and the school environment.”
Mark Minjoot
School Principal, Montfort Secondary School
“Design for Change’ provides a unique platform for students from all walks of life to come together and create the future they want to see. The Learning Process is a powerful one – Students are nurtured to Empathise with stakeholders, inspired to Imagine a Solution and supported in Designing one. As they Synergise as Changemakers, the experience leaves vivid memories of bonds established and sparks in many the Desire to Make a Difference to the community and nation.”
Professor Howard Gardner
Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Project Zero
“Many young people would like to bring about changes in their community, and many adults (including me) urge them to do so. I’m enthusiastic about Design for Change, an organization dedicated to helping young people articulate and pursue their aspirations for their community.”
