FEEL
Our school is located in a rural area, very far from the city and town. We do not have a stable electric service, the classrooms are dark and there is no electricity to connect the computers, video bean, and other devices for the classes. For this reason, we have a lot of difficulties in learning the subjects in class.
IMAGINE
We envisioned having one main lighting system, taking advantage of solar, mechanical, and wind energy, manufactured by ourselves, that would serve to connect electronic devices and illuminate classrooms and hallways of the school.
DO
* We get resources in our homes, schools, and with the support of the community.
* We made a bazaar in the town to buy a solar panel that served as a model to assemble ours.
* We build the auto generator to produce electrical energy from the wind, using a fan as the blades of the auto generator.
* We got a used bicycle to produce mechanical energy.
* We get and adapt dynamo to transform pedal power to drums.
SHARE
* We post our change story on Facebook.
* We made exhibitions in other schools and events organized by the mayor’s office and the ministry of education.
* We participated in the science event of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and innovation, the Ondas SCIENCE HEROES 2018 program.
IMPACT
* We were able to illuminate corridors and classrooms with 10 bulbs for 249 students.
* We supply power to three electrical outlets.
* We improved on state assessments and student participation in class is qualitatively better.
* The lack of resources impulse them to develop more creative, using the recyclable materials that they have around.
* The community value the work of the boys from the village, the rural school, and the education in the life of their children.

FEEL
In their English class the children came across the term Z-generation and started a discussion on how it is represented in the media and seen by society in general. They did a small research and felt upset to realize the common stereotypes about their generation: that it spends its time only on their phones and computers, is apathetic, and doesn’t have a realistic view about life.
IMAGINE
The children discussed that they might change the stereotypes about the Z-generation by catalyzing and demonstrating their true potential in terms of entrepreneurship and creativity. The solution was to develop their own business models, represented by a business card and product portfolio, and share them with the public.
DO
The class divided into 5 groups, each of which decided on the type of business they wanted to create. The businesses are: Interactive entertainment, Pet fashion design, Video Games development, Reusable bottles copany and Bakery.
The kids did drawings of their business cards and products, and then turned them into digital form by creating a special website for their portfolios.
The next step was to make a plan on how to make the ideas get greater visibility. Currently, through the network of parents, teachers and supporters, the teams are working on organizing meetings with business experts from the design sector to receive feedback and exchange ideas on innovation and creativity.
SHARE
The DFC experience, including the business ideas of the children, is shared on the website of the school and presented in a meeting with the parents. Information about it will be published in the school newspaper and a local media.
IMPACT
We believe that this solution clearly demonstrated the I CAN mindset of the Z-generation, as well as its talent, creativity and initiative

FEEL
Insight: We have to help older adults not to feel unsafe in Lomas de Sargentillo because one day we will be their age.
IMAGINE
They tried to figure out all the ways to keep older people safe in their canton. Although there were so many ideas about it, they decided to choose a story to raise awareness about the care of the elderly during the context of the Pandemic.
DO
To tell the story about caring for the elderly in the context of the pandemic, they first interviewed an older woman to find out how she felt in the pandemic. From this interview, they decided to create a story from scratch based on the life story of this old woman and mix it with a bit of fiction.
SHARE
The students are going to post their story on the net within a Blog with the aim of using it to spread future story sequels. Their goal is for the elderly woman interviewed to be able to relate the story created based on her life story to children in the junior classes of their school “Nuestra Señora de la Sabiduría”.
